Supply Chain Planning Forum October 2008
Alan Braithwaite, LCP Chairman, and Dan Knivett presented their paper on "Evaluating a supply chain's carbon footprint - a practical methodology and example of Carbon-to-Serve" at the BarloworldOptimus Supply Chain Planning Forum on the 1st October. LCP was a sponsor of the Forum in recognition of our active invovlement in supply chain analysis and modelling.
The Carbon-to-Serve approach from LCP is an innovative way of understanding the end to end carbon impact of supply chains and provide a transparent collaborative platform for testing and designing improvements. The audience found much to interest them in the thinking and approach and Dan and Alan took many questions on the detail. This feedback was consistent with an earlier presentation at the Logistics Research Network Conference, showing that there is a real desire for practical ways to evaluate carbon efficiency. With developments in progress and protection of the concept, LCP is confident that we are providing a real innovation to meet this need.
